To the dismay of the Colorado voter, National Popular Vote passed the House on a final vote of 34-29. The bill is on its way to the Governor’s desk, where Polis is expected to sign it in an effort to pass Colorado’s Electoral College votes on to whichever candidate wins the popular vote.

Wrong Brian! This will mean that Colorado’s 9 electoral votes will be cast based on the entire us popular vote. So, If Colorado votes 100% on a candidate, but the other candidate received more votes in say NY and California, then guess what, Colorado’s 9 electoral votes will go to the OTHER candidate. Regardless of how YOU voted. They are NOT eliminating the electoral college.

Apparently our Governor never attended a civics class. Corruption at its finest! Getting rid of the electoral college means that CO won’t even have a vote! How can we get rid of Mr. Polis? Apparently his greed is worth more than our states right to have a voice in the elections.
A country this large cannot fairly and responsibly represent the rights of everyone as equally as possible when goverened by national popular vote. Each state has electoral votes to represent the popular vote in each state. This allows states with lower populations to have the rightful voice they deserve. By ignoring that and going with the national popular vote, you take away the voice of the people of your state. You are saying that they don’t deserve a significant voice or attention and don’t deserve to be represented. You say, by passing this bill, that the large grouping of people in just a few states have the right to override our needs. It would tell the people of this state that their votes don’t really matter. You allow the biggest states to bully us out of our rights. If you pass this then the only states that matter on a presidential election are the big ones with huge populations, you would be saying that is okay to forget us and for political parties to attempt to con, bribe, or engage in corruption to win those bigger states, then we are forced to follow along even if we don’t agree, because they control us. DO NOT PASS THIS, it steals our rights and our voices, it sells us out to states that don’t care about our welfare, security, prosperity and economy. Do not violate the constitution, the people of this state, and our right to have a voice, even if its different from those hugely populated states. Our founding fathers recognized the need to protect the rights of everyone even those in smaller states, in rural areas. Do not let the mob mentality destroy our state.

Shaun, you are absolutely correct. Our representatives have abdicated Colorado’s “right to vote”. The Democrats have have figured out how to “pay” poor Americans and a lot of illegal aliens to “stay poor” and the Dems are doing this with our Tax dollars. Because of this we now have a 3rd generation of entitlement recipients that believe that they are owed the right to free healthcare and a minimum wage that should support a family. What a load of you know what that is. Minumum wage was never intended to “support a family”. If you want to make more money get the skills that pay a higher wage. The dems have removed the incentive to “pull yourself up” and this is where the wheels come off the wagon. this country is very close to having more riding in the wagon than there are pulling it. (who is John Galt?) The whole thrust of this National Popular Vote is due to the fact that there were enough of us in 2016 that had had enough of this that Trump was elected. Now the Dems can’t wrap their collective heads around the fact that they lost and want to change the rules of the game.
