A reprieve for coal and cheap energy in Colorado?

In Colorado, there is a coal-fired plant called Comanche-3 that is fairly new by industry standards. It was producing cheap energy for Colorado consumers – and it was good for the economy.

Well, the Dems worshiping at the altar of their green religion kinda forced Xcel Energy to close down the plant. The reality is Xcel cut a deal to fleece consumers for their own business interests, but that’s for another article.

Then, of course, Xcel tried to get contractors to do the job of cleaning up the plant below cost – because that is what they do. But wait, now the Department of Energy (The Fed) says that the site is perfect for Carbon Capture Utilization and Storage (CCUS) technology.

This will mean a better use for the plant, oh and it will create jobs. Unfortunately, this chapter was not in the Book of Green for the Green Enviro-libs. So, who will win this one?

Will this be a win for our favorite coal-fired plant in Colorado? Or will the destructive greenies get their way, again?

Stay tuned, and read the linked article from our friends at Complete Colorado!

  1. I support this idea and also the idea of re-opening all coal-power plants. Screw the goddamned democrats!
