Denver, CO – The Colorado State Legislature is closed Friday and Saturday due to the riot at the Black Lives Matter protest Thursday night.

It was rumored that Democrats were planning to begin work on unconstitutional gun control this weekend.

Instead, the legislature is closed due to senseless violence at a protest for George Floyd. Floyd died while under arrest by police in Minneapolis.

Shots were reportedly fired towards the capitol building during the protest. The building was also defaced with graffiti, and protesters even blocked the interstate. A police cruiser and multiple other vehicles were also vandalized by the rioters.

Thankfully, the police did an excellent job of keeping people safe and clearing the streets when necessary as the riot dragged on into the night.

The message of these protests should have been for a peaceful end to police brutality in honor of George Floyd. Instead, radical anarchist groups are dishonoring Floyd’s memory by fighting violence with violence.
