Polis Will Commute Sentences of Three Murderers

Polis and Buentello, two politicians who oppose the Death Penalty. Why is Pueblo Rep. Buentello holding a sign supporting Denver?

Denver, CO – Polis will commute the sentences of three murderers. Colorado Governor Jared Polis told CBS 4 Denver that now that the Death Penalty Repeal passed, he will commute the sentences of Nathan Dunlap, Robbie Ray, and Sir Mario Owens.

From CBS 4:

Polis has said that he will sign it and commute the sentences of the three people currently on Colorado’s death row. Nathan Dunlap was sentenced to death in the 1993 Aurora killings of four Chuck E. Cheese employees who were closing up shop for the night. Robbie Ray was convicted of orchestrating the killings of two people set to testify against him in a shooting. Sir Mario Owens was sentenced to death in that same case. The next year, he was convicted of killing witnesses in the same Ray case.

These are bad people, and now they will continue to live out lives with three square meals, a roof, and free healthcare. Thanks a lot, Jared Polis.

In related Death Penalty news, liberal Pueblo Representative Bri Buentello weighed in on her vote to repeal the Death Penalty. Here is a gem from Colorado Politics:

“I was completely haunted by a classroom I saw” on that visit, Buentello said. Buentello, a teacher, looked at some of the schoolwork from these inmates. “Their stories broke my heart. What I heard was lack of impulse control and lack of guidance” for these at-risk youth, she said.

So, Buentello feels that lack of impulse control warrants sympathy. Well, we think it is part of the primary social contract for a human being NOT to kill someone; it doesn’t matter that they have impulse control or not.

Buentello continues:

I find myself going to confession a lot” during the session. “I don’t want to tell my priest that I didn’t support a social justice cause because it was hard. I was elected, albeit by a very slim margin, to make tough decisions.” …Buentello won her 2018 election by 321 votes, the narrowest margin in victory of any statewide elected office in 2018. Her district includes Pueblo, Otero and Fremont counties, and had previously elected a moderate Republican in three elections before.

For Buentello, it’s about this far-left concept of “Social Justice” versus justice for families and victims. Her liberal philosophy trumps her district and the vast majority of Colorado citizens who support the Death Penalty.

We guess that voters who narrowly elected her in the worst year for Republicans on record, will let her know at the ballot box in November. There is an old adage at the legislature: “represent your district or someone else will.” It means voters know, and they will not re-elect you if you stray too far from your district. Buentello should expect a tough re-election this year.

What do you think about Polis commuting the sentences of these murderers? What about vulnerable State Representative Buentello, did she have a good excuse to vote for the Death Penalty Repeal? Please post your comments below and on our social media!

  1. Jared Polis & his supporters belong swinging at the end of a rope for corruption, dereliction of duty, treason, fraud, terrorism, reverse racism, crimes against humanity, conspiracy, conspiracy to commit treason, conspiracy to commit mass murder, conspiracy to spread disorder, conspiracy to commit tyranny, infringement………..These are but a fraction of your crimes and is irrefutable proof of Jared Polis & company’s incompetence to govern, Jared Polis must resign completely or if he feels passionate about his fascist views he must commit Seppuku on national television to redeem his time in office & to clean his honor. This is no longer about guns, safety or freedom, Colorado WILL NOT BE RULED BY CALIFORNIAN TYRANTS

  2. I believe these two people should be out of office. We had the death penalty for a reason and the 3 who were sentenced for a reason were there for a reason

  3. California here we come. The knuckleheads of Colorado elected Democrats from the top to the bottom of the ticket and when the Democrats get total power they do what they do. So far there are about a dozen laws that have passed through both houses of the legislature and signed into law that the people of Colorado didn’t want. And, I have no doubt that before we can get rid of these Democrats we will have a state with rules, regulations, taxes, gun control and economy very much like California’s. The bunch who moved here from California will have to find another state they can ruin and they decide to abandon Colorado as they did California. It’s amazing that their desires seem to get implemented and then they grow to hate them, so they leave the state they just ruined. Then, they move on and bring their crazy ideas to the new state, too.

  4. These animals need to be executed for their crimes, death penalty ban or not, as they were tried, convicted and sentenced under the law of the time they were tried. Folks really need to research just what “ex post facto” means and keep these death penalties in place for these animals as new restrictions do NOT apply to people already sentenced!!! “Congress shall make no ex post facto laws” This applies across the board and simply put means that no new law can affect things already done the new law just stops things from the date of enactment FORWARD!!!!!!
