Rep. Galindo votes to protect pedophiles

Today, Representative Rochelle Galindo, D-Greeley, voted against a bill that closes a loophole in current law allowing pedophiles to send explicit and sexually charged messages to children.

HB19-1030 on Third Reading, March 20, 2019

HB19-1030 closes a loophole that recently allowed Justin Folleyto get away with sexting a minor, due to the lack of photo evidence.

Current law only allows for conviction if explicit images are found. Unfortunately, Folley and his alleged victim exchanged said images via Snapchat. Because the photos were deleted, the evidence “did not exist.”

According to Craig Daily Press, “The jury was given 30 pages of screenshots detailing the exchanges — exchanges in which Folley told the victim of his desire to have sex with her, asked her “how bad” she wanted it to happen, and quizzed her as to whether she had ever masturbated.”

Ask anyone, and they will agree this is inappropriate, sexually-deviant behavior directed at a minor.

But, Galindo and 6 of her Democrat colleagues do not seem to believe Folley’s behavior justifies a fix to current law. Perhaps they do not think sexting a 14-year-old girl is, in fact, a punishable crime?

Either way, Galindo and her colleagues voted to protect pedophiles.

Under no circumstances should an adult be exchanging sexually explicit text messages with a minor, yet Galindo’s vote contradicts this commonly held moral standard.

Maybe attorney Kevin Paul, who testified in opposition to the bill on behalf of Planned Parenthood, got to Galindo. She did vote against the bill in the House Committee on Judiciary where Paul testified.

Be it special interests, or just a horrible value system, there is absolutely no reason for anyone to oppose the conviction of pedophiles who prey on our children.

Thankfully, the much-needed fix to close the loophole in current law passed with bi-partisan support in the Colorado State House on third reading with a 58-7 vote, despite Galindo’s misguided dissent. It will move on to the Senate, where hopefully, lawmakers will uphold higher moral standards.

  1. I have been a victim since very early childhood, which went on for yrs. At nearly 60 yrs old, I have NO TOLERANCE FOR PERVERTS AND PEDOPHILES!!!! only a communist would do this!!!!

    BAHAHAHAHAHA.

    “moral standards” from a lawmaker?

    BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

    That’s a good one!

It’s gonna take more than “hope” for humanity to survive this stuff. Those communists killed “hope” years ago. Consistently replacing bad with much worst is surely not going to fix anything.
