Were Gun Rights Violated at Northfield Bass Pro Shops Ordered to Close

Denver, CO – Were gun rights violated at the Northfield Stapleton Bass Pro Shops that was ordered to close on Wednesday?

According to the CBS4 article that reported the forced closure, it is possible.

A Bass Pro employee tells CBS4 the store was in the middle of processing several background checks for firearms. It’s unclear if the company plans to appeal the order to vacate.

From: CBS4

It is not clear if these background checks were allowed to be completed, or not. If they were not, then the government is obstructing citizens’ right to purchase firearms.

The CBS4 article is not clear why the Bass Pro Shops was ordered to close. However, gun stores are considered “essential” businesses under the “Stay at Home” order.

If the government, in a time of crisis or not, can arbitrarily shut down businesses that sell firearms, our freedom is at risk. Clearly, local and state governments in Colorado are willing to throw Constitutional rights out the window.

It appears there is a widespread crackdown on businesses that are supposedly violating the “Stay at Home” and “essential” business orders issued by Governor Jared Polis.

This is alarming. Large fines and up to year-long jail sentences are being threatened for any businesses that do not immediately comply.

Is it time to push back against widespread government overreach?

  1. As stated in the above article, gun stores are considered “essential” businesses under the “Stay at Home” order (issued by Homeland Security). Further, courts in other states have ruled that gun manufacturers, sellers, and buyers are protected under the 2nd Amendment: therefore, they are essential and must continue to process background checks related to gun sales. In fact, New Jersey had to “walk back” their Gestapo overreach and allow gun stores to remain open and process gun sales.

Apparently, our governor is, once again, asleep at the wheel and hasn’t bothered to notify the rest of the state that his order claiming gun stores are “nonessential” was wrong — because it violated the Constitution’s 2nd Amendment. Now would be a good time for King Jared to get down from his throne and start enforcing the U.S. Constitution. Oh, that’s right, he wouldn’t recognize the Constitution if it was right next to him and it bit him in the “a–s” (arms).

  2. This what Colorado gets for electing King Jared and for Conservatives to allow the Never Trumper’s suffering from TDS like Uncle Phil and Both Ways Bob who still control the Republican Party who repeatedly chooses to loose and refuse to support great Conservatives like the Nevil’s, Casper Stockham or Tony Sanchez just to mention a few of the great Conservatives who received 0 help.
