Where is the, uh, fact check on AOC?

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez recently made bold statements attacking the United States Border Patrol after touring a detention facility. She claimed “systemic cruelty” and that detained immigrants were being forced to drink from toilets. Where is the fact check on AOC’s claim?

When asked if she saw if someone actually did that, AOC rolled up the car window. In the same video report, CBP Deputy Commissioner assured Fox News hosts immigrants had clean drinking water and all accusations of misconduct would be independently investigated. He went on to say that if misconduct is found, those responsible will be dealt with appropriately.

Not only did Border Patrol deny the charges from AOC, but a group of pastors who visited the same detention facility shortly after denied them as well!

Reverend Samuel Rodriguez, a long time immigration activists, had this to say:

“I read the reports, saw the news clips. I just wanted to see what was actually happening in order to better enable our efforts to find a fair and a just solution to our broken immigration system,” Rodriguez, who has advised President Trump and both Presidents Barack Obama and George W. Bush on immigration reform, noted. “To my surprise, I saw something drastically different from the stories I’ve been hearing in our national discourse. Even as a veteran of immigration advocacy in the U.S., I was shocked at the misinformation of the crisis at the border.”

He went on to confirm there were “no deplorable conditions and no lack of basic necessities.”

“We found no soiled diapers, no deplorable conditions and no lack of basic necessities,” Rodriguez remarked, adding he specifically asked border agents if they staged the facility in response to the negative press. “They unequivocally denied it — we were witnessing the identical conditions the attorneys saw when they toured the facility days earlier.”

Congress Is At Fault, Not Border Patrol

Yes, holding and detention facilities are overcrowded. But, that is not Border Patrol’s fault, it is the fault of a gluttonous, lazy, politically entrenched Congress unwilling to provide the funding Border Patrol requested for months until just recently.

In fact, AOC voted AGAINST the humanitarian aid package to improve overcrowding at detention facilities! Why you might ask? Because the only solution she will accept is a border open to criminal illegal immigrants. Her voting record and policies support an underfunded and under-protected border ripe for abuse by drug cartels.

AOC’s visit to the Texas detention facility was nothing more than a politically motivated stunt and photo-op. Her behavior is unbecoming of a United States Representative at best.

Our suggestion to AOC, do not triple down on your false statements and quit while you are behind.
