Sen. Michael Bennet just cannot win the Democratic presidential nomination. Not only that, but it is unlikely he will reach the next debate.

As predicted, Bennet came out swinging for the “moderate” fences. Well, he waited for half the debate, then came out swinging.

The Colorado Senator was the only candidate other than ex-Vice President Joe Biden to oppose single-payer healthcare. We all know how well that plays with the Democratic base. If Bennet does not promise “free” stuff, he is not going anywhere.

Honestly, Bennet performed better than his buddy, ex-Governor John Hickenlooper. Unfortunately for the Bennet campaign, the lefties in the Democratic base want socialist-style candidates. While he is plenty far left, Bennet does not fit that category.

So, where does Bennet go from here?

Bennet is headed back to Iowa, where he will waste more time and money running a futile campaign into the ground. We have a better idea for Bennet than campaigning in Iowa: the Senator should drop out and head back to Washington D.C. to do his job, along with the rest of Congress.

Congress just began a six-week vacation, instead of representing the American people by working to pass needed legislation. They should go back to work and start with our broken immigration system.

Then again, as long as they are on vacation, at least they are not wasting taxpayer dollars on never-ending oversight committee hearings. But, we digress.

Takeaway & Twitter Trolls

The takeaway of Bennet’s performance is that there was not much to take away. As we stated before, people see Bennet as a boring candidate.

Well, except for these Twitter trolls. If you were wondering why Mr. Mackey of South Park is next to Bennet in the article photo – you may enjoy this video:
