Denver, CO – Just yesterday, Colorado Citizen Press reported that the Colorado Republican Committee worked with Tusk Digital, a Never-Trump consulting firm that is actively supporting Joe Biden, until late 2019.
From 2015 to 2019, thousands of dollars were funneled into the pockets of anti-Trump, Tusk Digital, straight from Republican donors.
Who is to blame for the seeming betrayal of Republican Donors? The potential list is quite long.
Many point out that the payments started under the watch of former-chairman turned Congressional Candidate Steve House.
House has long faced accusations of being anti-Trump for refusing to hold a straw-poll at the State Assembly in 2016, practically assuring that Donald Trump didn’t receive any Colorado delegates.
While there is a case to be made there, other sources point to a new hire under House – Jefferson Thomas.
As the political director for the Colorado Republican Committee, Thomas would have worked hand-in-hand with Tusk Digital to develop marketing and ads and likely would have signed-off on any money sent to the pro-Democrat firm.
Republican activists who talked to Colorado Citizen Press on a condition of anonymity said Thomas seems a likely culprit along with House.
Particularly after Jefferson Thomas fired Representative Dave Williams from the Trump Campaign for “being too conservative.”
Our sources don’t find it particularly coincidental that Hillary Clinton donors are backing the same liberal “Republicans” as Jefferson Thomas.
Sources have also told us there are questions of Thomas’s loyalty at all levels – starting with Republican activists.
While Thomas is receiving the bulk of the frustration from activists and donors along with Steve House, there are plenty of other people who have had fingers pointed at them in the past few days.
These activists and donors want to know why numerous people in the party took so long to stop sending payments to known anti-Trump, pro-Biden companies. We think they deserve answers.
This is a failure of leadership at worst, and incompetence at best.
