Why Was the Colorado Republican Committee Paying a Group Working to Elect Biden?

Denver, CO – Why was the Colorado Republican Committee paying a group working to elect Joe Biden?

This is a question we never thought we would need to ask.

According to OpenSecrets.org, the Colorado Republican Committee has been paying Tusk Digital thousands of dollars for years. Tusk Digital supports Biden over President Donald Trump.

Tusk works closely with anti-Trump groups like The Lincoln Project and NeverTrump PAC. In fact, Tusk’s President, Ron Steslow, founded The Lincoln Project and is a vocal anti-Trump politico.

The Colorado Republican Committee payments to Tusk Digital began in February 2015. However, the payments finally stopped in September 2019.

It still begs the question of why the Republican party was working with NeverTrump consultants through the 2016 election. Obviously this was a problem with the previous Republican party leadership. But why did it take six months after leadership changed to relieve Tusk of their duties?

We sincerely hope that the Colorado Republican Committee made a mistake by spending donor’s money on an openly anti-Trump, pro-Biden group.

We cannot imagine Colorado Republican Committee donors support their money going to people who want to elect Biden and worked to elect Hillary Clinton.

There is no excuse for Republican’s money to support any group working to elect Joe Biden.

Editor’s Note: This article was updated to reflect that the payments to Tusk did officially stop September 24, 2019.

  1. Have someone call me about this immediately. Your reporting is false and should be addressed correctly. If this was a reputable news service, you would have called and asked for comment prior to publishing this piece or assigning an actual individual’s name to this article.

        1. Sure we do, Representative Baisley. He’s probably the guy who oversees the contracts with outside vendors like Tusk Digital. About right?

    2. What portion of the article is false? All? Some? Please identify as such. The Colorado Republican Party has a very bland reputation towards conservatives and President Donald Trump. Myself and many want this answered as we decide on our campaign contributions and which organiztion to send them too.

  2. The Colorado Republican Party leadership has a habit of supporting Democrats on a regular basis. Former Republican Chair Ryan Call actually maxed out his donation to Democrat Bernie Buescher back in 2008. What a joke!

  3. Thank you, Nick. I will send an email over right now with my phone number and will include it, again, below. I would still like a call from whoever wrote this article or who publishes and approves the content on this site.

I look forward to speaking with someone soon.
