Denver, CO – Colorado Secretary of State Jena Griswold claims voter registration postcards mailed to deceased and non-citizens is no big deal.

Griswold’s office sent out about 750,000 postcards to register new voters in Colorado. CBS4 learned of about a dozen postcards either sent to non-citizens or the deceased.

The list is compiled by the Electronic Registration Information Center. The non-profit uses the Social Security Death Index and DMV records to create the list.

According to CBS4, Griswold brushed off concerns over the improperly mailed postcards.

She said, “The fact that the list, or the postcard, goes to a few people who are not eligible to be registered is why we put so prominently on the postcard the qualifications to vote in this election.”

That is all well and good, but Griswold failed to address what happens if an ineligible person registers to vote.

Colorado’s online voter registration system only requires a Colorado driver’s license to register. Considering Colorado issues driver’s licenses to non-citizens, we see a major problem with mailing non-citizens voter registration information.

If Colorado’s voter registration system cannot verify citizenship status, widespread voter fraud is a very real possibility.

Griswold’s nonchalance about voter fraud is yet another example of her failure as Colorado’s Secretary of State.

  1. YOUR WEB PAGE AND NOTICES ON YAHOO AND COMCAST ARE BEING BLOCK…..DANGEROUS MILWARE OR VIRUS DETECTED…BY CENTURY LINK. IN SHORT CENTURY LINK IS NOT ALLOWING YOUR CONTENT.

  2. So true, I manage a property and a person who I applied for a Visa 5 years ago was sent a voter registration card – he’s not a citizen. I wonder how many others are being sent the same registration cards?
